MATERIAL:

Palo Santo is a mystical tree that grows on the coast of South America and is related to Frankincense, Myrrh and Copal.  In Spanish, the name literally means “Holy Wood”. It is part of the citrus family and has sweet notes of pine, mint and lemon.

SOURCE:

Sustainably harvested from naturally dead trees and fallen branches on the coast of Ecuador. Since their inception in 2008, Sacred Wood Essence has worked with their partner communities to plant 30,000 Palo Santo trees.

PACKAGING: Label and rope are **backyard/home compostable

**BACKYARD/HOME COMPOST is recommended as commercial compost rules in different facilities may vary.  Check with your local compost facility/service before bringing them.

HOW TO USE:

Use a match or lighter to ignite your stick of Palo Santo.  Hold at about a 45 degree angle pointing the tip down toward the flame.  Allow it to burn for about 30 secs to 1 minute and then blow out.  When finished, place the stick in a fire proof bowl of metal, glass or clay.  The glow will end on its own unless you blow on the ember which will keep the smoke going.  Always use caution and respect when working with fire.

ORIGIN:

The Palo Santo is traditionally burned by indigenous people to perform cleansing, healing and mystical rituals. The smudging of the stick remains a sacred ceremony to them and their community.

When using Palo Santo, please be mindful and respectful of the indigenous people's history.
